Ovulation Calculator

Estimate your fertile window and ovulation day for the next 4 cycles. Useful whether you're trying to conceive or want to understand your cycle better.

How does the ovulation calculator work?

Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before the start of your next period. This is called the luteal phase, and while it can vary slightly, 14 days is the most common length. The calculator subtracts 14 from your cycle length to estimate ovulation day, then marks the 5 days before and 1 day after as your fertile window.

What is the fertile window?

The fertile window is the approximately 6-day period during which pregnancy is possible. This includes the 5 days before ovulation (sperm can survive in the reproductive tract for up to 5 days) and the day of ovulation itself (the egg survives 12–24 hours after release). The day of ovulation and the day before are when conception is most likely.

Signs of ovulation

Many people notice physical signs around ovulation: clear, stretchy cervical mucus (similar to egg whites), a slight increase in basal body temperature, mild pelvic pain on one side (mittelschmerz), increased libido, and breast tenderness. Tracking these signs alongside this calculator can improve accuracy.

How accurate is this calculator?

This calculator provides an estimate based on average cycle length. Actual ovulation can shift by several days due to stress, illness, travel, or hormonal changes. For higher accuracy, combine this with cervical mucus tracking, basal body temperature charting, or ovulation predictor kits (OPKs). Meowa tracks all of these signs to give you increasingly accurate predictions over time.
